"Simpsons" Evolution Cartoon Project
Students watch & analyze this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faRlFsYmkeY) which misrepresents evolution. Students create a cartoon strips and explain concepts. The first cartoon strip must point out 5 mistakes from the Simpsons video. The second strip must present 5 major concepts. Each strip must have a minimum of 5 frames & a maximum of 10 frames. Use clip art, cut outs, or use a combination of techniques to illustrate. No stick figures, please. Each cartoon must have two paragraphs

Cartoons were not related to the assignment very well.

One of the cartoon strips fulfills its required 5 key concepts/Simpson evolution errors, but the other one does not.

Most of the total 10 key concepts/Simpson errors are present and represented well in the cartoon.

All 10 key concepts/Simpson errors are present and easily identifiable in the cartoons.

There are no paragraphs explaining the cartoons.

Only one paragraph was used for each cartoon strip.

Both cartoon strips have two paragraphs but grammatical errors are present and the explanations need work.

Both cartoon strips have two paragraphs that were well written and explain the cartoon well.
Presentation

The presentation was under the 5 minutes required or drastically over it. Contained many errors.
Fair
The presentation was around the required 5 minutes and the cartoons were only slightly explained in context to evolution.
Good
The presentation was around 5 minutes and did a good job explaining the cartoons, however some long pauses or presentation errors were made. Used a note card.
Excellent
The presentation was around 5 minutes and the cartoons were thoroughly explained. Did not use a note card.
