Expository Elements Expository Elements Students highlighted four expository elements from the student model. Then, they answered four questions about the sudent model further analyzing the elements of an expository text. Introduction and Conclusion	Poor Student did not identify the introduction and conclusion of the student model correctly or did not identify the them at all.	Fair Student identified the introduction and conclusion partially, but they left out the some of the sentences that were in the introduction and conclusion.	Good Studenet identified the introduction and conclusion completely and accurately.
Thesis	Poor Student did not identify the thesis statement or the thesis that was labeled was incorrect.	Fair Student could only partially identify the thesis statement.	Good Student was able to identify the entrire thesis statement.
Details	Poor Student did not find any quotes, personal experiences or facts that were used to back up the thisis or labeled that details incorrectly.	Fair Student found a few quotes, personal experiences and facts that were used as details to back up the thesis.	Good Student identified quotes, personal experience and facts that were used as details to back up the thesis.
Trainsitions	Poor Student did not label any transitions in the writing or labeled incorrect words for transitions.	Fair Student only labeled and identified some transitions in the writing.	Good Student identified and labeled several transistions within the writing.
