Support for Song Choices	Excellent Student shows full knowledge of the book and is able to support all song choices with well- developed explanations that show clear connections to the characters, symbols, and themes. Explanations provide great detail, with lyrics and textual references to support.	Good Student is at ease with the content of the novel, but does not explain fully how the song choices relate to their selected theme. Explanations include very little detail or little textual reference to either the book or the song lyrics.	Fair Student is uncomfortable with the content of the novel. Songs might relate to the book but student did not explain how. Explanations were provided, but not in sufficient detail to support the songs' inclusion.	Poor Student does not have a grasp of the themes of the book. The explanations of the song choices do not show a relationship to the theme. Explanations were not related or were missing.
