Science Biography and Interview-4th grade 
This rubric will assist in assessing a nonfiction report on a biography. The students will read and choose a selected book on a person. They are then to complete interview questions to conduct a survey for their own biography. They will write a final presentation. The final presentation needs to include a one page paper. In addition, they will be presenting this presentation orally.

Exceeding Expectations

The student wrote a biography and summarized the biography in clear form. The student wrote complete sentences with great detail and included unusual facts, direct quotes and contributions. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation are near perfect. 18+ sentences.
Meeting all Expectations

The student wrote a biography with detail and summarized the biography in clear form. The student wrote complete sentences with great detail. But fail to include direct quotes and unusual facts. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation are near perfect. 18+ sentences.
Meeting Most Expectations

The student wrote a paragraph with little summarization details. He/she did write response sentences to the questions but needed more detail. No direct quotes or unusual facts. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation are near perfect. 15-18 sentences.
Works towards Expectations

The student wrote incomplete sentences and the editing features were not observed. 10-14 sentences for the report.
Not Meeting Expectations

Inaccurate information and incomplete sentences were provided with no editing. 1-10 sentences for the report.

Focusing on voice, eye-contact, and conduct. Dressing up as the scientist and getting into the spirit of the interview.

Exceeding Expectations

Student showed understanding of the scientist and was a dynamic presenter, making eye-contact to his/her classmates. Interview questions were detailed giving a complete understanding of the life of the scientist. Dressed up
