Independent Reading
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
On-task time	Poor You wasted precious reading time.	Fair You read most of the time.	Good You read all of the time!
Book Selection	Poor You pretended to read and had a book that was not "just right" for you.	Fair You pretended to read OR had a book that was not "just right" for you.	Good You did not pretend to read AND you had a "just right" book for you!
Respect for others	Poor You did not respect others and caused distractions	Fair You mostly respected the readers around you.	Good You respected the readers around you.
Response	Poor You have not been responding to your reading in your response journal. Let me know what you are thinking!	Fair You sometime respond to your reading through your response journal. It appears that you are trying to show your thinking.	Good You are responding to your reading through your response journal. It is apparent that you are thinking as you read!
