Rational Numbers Students will understand the meaning of positive and negative rational numbers and use them in computation.
	Excellent Student demonstrates above average level of proficiency by meeting all criteria outlined below. 5 pts	Good Student demonstrates average level of proficiency by meeting most of the criteria outlined below. 4 pts	Fair Student demonstrates below average level of proficiency by meeting a few of the criteria outlined below. 3 pts	Poor Student demonstrates no level of proficiency by meeting none of the criteria outlined below. 2 pts
Rational Numbers a. Find the value of a number using a number line	Excellent Student has correctly identified the values of 8 rational numbers by placing them correctly on a number line.	Good Student has correctly identified the values of 5 rational numbers by placing them correctly on a number line.	Fair Student has correctly identified the values of at least 4 rational numbers by placing them correctly on a number line.	Poor Student has correctly identified all absolute values of less than 4 rational numbers by placing them correctly on a number line.
Least to Greatest Compare and order rational number, including repeating decimals	Excellent Student has correctly constructed a number line with all 8 rational numbers placed in order from least to greatest.	Good Student has correctly constructed a number line with 5 rational numbers placed in order from least to greatest.	Fair Student has correctly constructed a number line with at least 4 rational numbers placed in order from least to greatest.	Poor Student has correctly constructed a number line with less than 4 rational numbers placed in order from least to greatest.
