Functions and Graphing Project 8th Grade Functions and Graphing Project In this project, students receive a function rule for one of three situations. They must determine which inputs they want to use for the function rule, calculate the outputs, and graph the function. Next, they must represent the function in a new way -- by building, drawing, or writing about it. Finally, they will explain how their function works in the real world through an oral presentation. Completeness	Poor Large pieces of information are missing -- the project is not complete.	Fair Some pieces of information are missing -- the project is mostly complete.	Good No large pieces of information are missing, but some details and explanations may be lacking, or some work may not be shown.	Excellent The project is complete, all information is obviously present, and the student provided details, and all work is shown.
Accuracy	Poor Math is done incorrectly and demonstrates a lack of understanding of mathematical concepts. The student demonstrates a near complete understanding of concepts.	Excellent Math is completely accurate, and work demonstrates a thorough understanding of the concepts.

Fair Final product is difficult to read in some places, and the student took minimal care to turn in quality work.	Good Final product is legible and easy to follow, but there is evidence that the student did not thoroughly edit for clarity and errors.	Excellent Final product is neat, easy to follow, and the student took care to edit for clarity, address errors, and turn in quality work.
