	Exemplary The student shows evidence of preparation and practice. 10 pts	Proficient The student shows some evidence of practice and preparation. More is needed to become proficient. 5 pts	Developing The student needs to practice more, ask for assistance if needed, but try to improve , relax. More preparation will help with confidence. 3 pts
NOTES	Exemplary The student plays correct notation at least 90% of the time.	Proficient The student plays ocrrect notation at least 80% of the time.	Developing The student plays correct notation less than 80% of the time.
RHYTHM	Exemplary The right hand/left hand rhythms are correctly played at least 90% of the time.	Proficient The right hand/left hand rhythms are correctly played at least 70% of the time.	Developing The right hand/left hand rhythms are often incorrectly counted and played incorrectly.
FINGERING	Exemplary 90% of chord fingering in the left hand (at least) is correct as well as right hand fingerings if given.	Proficient 80% of chord fingering in the left hand (at least) is correct as well as right hand fingerings if given.	Developing Chord fingerings are not being played correctly.
TEMPO	Exemplary The student keeps a steady beat throught the music selection.	Proficient The student sometimes maintains a steady beat throughout the music selection.	Developing The student does not keep a steady beat through out the music selection.
Hand Position	Exemplary The fingers are curved and the wrist is comfortable high as the student is playing.	Proficient The student is doing a pretty good job but needs to curve fingers more, or adjust wrist position.	Developing The student is playing with flat fingers and a low wrist. He/she may be touching the keyboard with his/her palm while playing.
