Softball Skills Assessment
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Throwing	Poor Brings arm back by the ear, stands with feet in wrong position, throws accurately to target less then 40% of the time.	Fair Proper body stance, brings arm back by the ear, step and throw, throws accurately to target 60% of the time.	Good Proper body stance, makes a 'W' motion with their arms before throwing, brings arm back by the ear, step and throw, follow through, uses glove as a guide, throws accurately to target 80% of the time.
Swinging the bat	Poor Stands with feet staggered, hand motion is not the right way, does not swing level	Fair Proper body stance, dominate hand on top, keeps bat off shoulder, weight on both legs, does not always keep back elbow up.	Good Proper body stance, dominate hand on top, weight on back leg, keeps back elbow up, step and swing, keeps bat off shoulder, swings level
Field ground ball	Poor Stands straight up, does not field the ball between their legs, cannot stop the ball	Fair Stands with body facing hitter, glove down, does not cover with other hand	Good Stands with body facing hitter, butt down, glove down, head up, fields ball and covers caught ball with other hand
