Revision Process	Poor Student's knowledge of the revision process is limited as their poem's theme is confusing and does not embody an important event or experience from their lives.	Fair Student's knowledge of the revision process is unclear due to a lack of changes made in response to teacher comments and feedback.	Good Students' knowledge of the revision process is moderately clear. Uses at least 2 poetic devices and a has a clear theme that concludes in the end of the poem.	Excellent Student's knowledge of the revision process is clear very. Examples of revision are evident in their re-writing of the poem which possesses at least 2 poetic devices and a well crafted concluding stanza.
Content	Poor The writer has not tried to revise or add to their original poem.	Fair The writer has made an effort to write the poem but barely adds content to embellish their original draft.	Good The writer relates some of his/her own knowledge, ideas or experience in the poem.	Excellent The writer effectively adds to their poem by drawing on his/her own knowledge, ideas, or experience.
Imagery/List Technique	Poor The poet uses little to no imagery and does not use the list technique to enhance the poem.	Fair Poet has limited use of the list technique and imagery.The writing does not clearly give the reader a real sense of what the experience or event was.	Good The poet's list technique and imagery are effective but not do completely support the main idea of the poem.	Excellent Student's writing clearly makes use of the list technique and employs effective imagery.
Spelling & Grammar	Poor Students makes an abundance of errors in grammar and spelling that distract the reader from the content.	Fair Students makes many errors in grammar and spelling that distract the reader from the content.	Good Student makes several errors in grammar or spelling that distract the reader from the content.	Excellent Student has clearly edited their poem for spelling and grammar and makes no or few errors that distract reader from the content.
