Imagery	Good Vivid imagery paints a picture.	Fair Imagery is applied to standard words and phrases, but it is not very vivid.	Poor There is little or no evidence of imagery in the poem.
Line/Word Spacing	Good Line spacing and word spacing are creative and enhance the meaning of the poem.	Fair Some spacing seems purposeful and creative, some seems accidental or random.	Poor Poem looks like prose; no clear evidence of significance of spacing.
Figurative Language	Good Full understanding and application of extended metaphor of marriage help bring the poem to life.	Fair Some evidence of the marriage metaphor is present, but it is generic or doesn't fit well with the poem.	Poor There is little or no use of the extended metaphor of marriage.
