--Writer clearly introduce readers to the -Research topic and clearly details supporting information and subtopics in an organized manner; topic is complex, complete, & in-depth.
--Writer is involved with subject.
--Clear, appropriate organization, text structure) with effective transitions, introduction, and conclusion.

--The topic is stated clearly, but the research support for topic is lacking in depth or complexity.
--Organization, transitions, introduction, and conclusion slightly lacking clarity and/or appropriateness.

--The thesis is not clear, but can generally be inferred.
--Support for topic barely sufficient, and/or organization, transitions, introduction, and conclusion lacking in clarity and/or appropriateness.

--Topic unclear or non-existent.
