Totem Pole Project Totem Pole Project You are going to make a totem pole that has 5 drawings on it. Each drawing is to represent something from your own life that is important to you, or symbolizes something from your own life. You will explain each animal chosen in a paragraph. Finished Product Appearance 20 pts	Poor The totem has no order and/or is sloppy in appearance. The drawings are too small for the totem.	Fair The drawings are not quite large enough and need to be spaced out a bit better.	Good Totem is somewhat organiaed and put together neatly. The drawings are large enough, but need to be spaced out better.	Excellent Totem is well organized and put together neatly. The drawings are an appropriate size and spaced out nicely.
Use of color 20 pts	Poor There are few colors used on the totem pole.	Fair There are 3 colors used on the totem pole and these colors are not very bright or vivid.	Good There are 4-5 colors used on the totem pole and they are fairly bright.	Excellent There are multiple and vivid colors used on the totem pole. The colors grab the viewers attention.
Use of Time 20 pts	Poor Class time was not used wisely and no additional effort was put forth outside of regular class time.	Fair Class time was not used wisely, however, student did work some outside of regular class time.	Good Class time was used wisely. Student could have used time more wisely outside of regular class time.	Excellent Class time was used wisely. It is clear the student worked at other times besides just regular class time.
Content Requirements 40 pts	Poor Written explanation does not follow the requirements of the assignment	Fair Written explanation does explain spirit animals but does not successfully relate to student.	Good Written explanation does explain spirit animals but does not fully explain choice and/or how relates to student.	Excellent Written explanation goes along with chosen drawings and is excellent representation of the totem.
