Classroom Participation and Behavior
This rubric will be used by teachers as a evaluation tool. The teacher will also use this rubric to assess student classroom participation and behavior. This will be used to help decide special honors and recognition.

-Student is engaged in classroom discussions and projects. Participates actively in mass. Willingly asks and answers questions. Shows an exceptional effort in attempting to be a fully participating member of the classroom and church community.
STRONG
-Student is mostly engaged in classroom discussions and projects. Sometimes participates actively in mass. Will sometimes ask and answers questions. Shows a strong effort in attempting to be a fully participating member of the classroom and church community.
CAPABLE
-Student is seldom engaged in classroom discussions and projects. Seldom participates actively in mass. Will ask and answers questions when prompted. Puts some effort in attempting to be a fully participating member of the classroom and church community.
POOR
-Student is not engaged in classroom discussions and projects. Never participates actively in mass. Never asks and answers questions. Shows no effort in attempting to be a fully participating member of the classroom and church community.
PRODUCTIVITY/ON-TASK
EXCEPTIONAL
-Student is ON-TASK and works PRODUCTIVELY. Rarely leaves the classroom, stays focused while in groups.
STRONG
-MOSTLY on-task and worked productively. Leaves the classroom sometimes and stays mostly on task while in groups
CAPABLE
-MOSTLY off-task and
UNPRODUCTIVE. Frequent trips out of the room (bathroom/drinks), needs to be refocused during group work
POOR
-NOT on-task nor productive. Excessive trips out the room, does not participate in group work.
PREPARATION
EXCEPTIONAL
Student is PREPARED for class with assignments and suggested class materials and homework, including reading and fact logs.
STRONG
Student is MOSTLY prepared for class with assignments and suggested class materials and homework, including reading and fact logs.
CAPABLE
Student is normally not prepared for class with assignments and suggested class materials and homework, including reading and fact logs.
POOR
Student is never prepared for class with assignments and suggested class materials and homework, including reading and fact logs.
BEHAVIOR
EXCEPTIONAL
Student SHOWS responsibility and respect and does NOT display disruptive behavior during class.
STRONG
Student MOSTLY shows responsibility and respect and SOMETIMES displays disruptive behavior during class.
CAPABLE
Student FREQUENTLY displays disruptive behavior such as: speaking out of turn, derailing conversations, and distracting classmates.
POOR
Student displays EXCESSIVE disruptive behavior such as: speaking out of turn, derailing conversations, and distracting classmates.
CONTRIBUTION
EXCEPTIONAL
Student CONTRIBUTES to the classroom by consistently turning in assignments on time and helping others when asked (or volunteering when need is seen).
STRONG
Student meets MOSTLY contributes to the classroom and often helps others to complete the activities together.
CAPABLE
Student does not contribute to the classroom on a regular basis and has to be asked to complete his/her own assignments more than once.
POOR
Student does not do contribute to the classroom, even when asked and refuses to help others.
