Creativity	Poor Little or no creativity displayed, songs have no clear connection with the subject matter	Fair Some creativity is evident, but some areas are lacking. it may appear that not much thought has gone into choices or presentation.	Good Fair amount of creativity displayed, but lacks "oomph!"	Excellent Excellent creativity, has appropriate levels of "oomph"
Adherence to Directions	Poor Directions are not followed. Entire sections are missing or incomplete.	Fair Directions are followed for the most part, but there are still many inconsistencies.	Good Directions are followed throughout with only minor mistakes or divergences.	Excellent Excellent. Directions are followed to the letter, while displaying creativity and imagination.
Understanding of Subject Matter	Poor Little or no understanding of subject matter displayed. May or may not have read or understood material.	Fair Shows an understanding of most themes, actions, and relationships in the play, but may leave room for improvment. Some major themes, characters or occurances may be omitted or referenced incorrectly.	Good Understands basic concepts of the subject matter, but some songs may not be clearly linked to the material.	Excellent Songs are well chosen and linked to the material. Excellent mastery of subject matter is evident.
Spelling and Grammar	Poor Many mistakes, may be difficult to read or understand.	Fair Several mistakes, but overall meaning and intent is clear.	Good Very few mistakes. Proofreading is evident.	Excellent Perfect, no spelling or grammatical errors.
Presentation	Poor Presentation skills need drastic improvement, may seem completely unprepared	Fair Presentation skills need work, more preparation may have been required.	Good Presentation skills may be slightly lacking in some areas, but overall effective.	Excellent Excellent presentation skills.
