Diorama: Book Report Diorama: Book Report The student will create a Diorama which includes a favorite scene in the book and an oral report describing the scene they chose (setting, important characters, how/why the scene was important to the plot), tell about the elements in their diorama and how they are related to the scene. On time	Excellent Diorama is handed in on the date due.	Good Diorama is handed in 1 day late.	Satisfactory Diorama is handed in 2 days late.	Fair Diorama is 3 or more days late.
Diorama	Excellent Represents a scene from the book. It is realistic and creative. All work is presented neatly.	Good Represents a scene from the book. It is realistic and creative. Work is a bit sloppy.	Satisfactory Represents a scene from the book but it is not realistic or creative.	Fair Diorama does not depict a scene from the book.
Written Summary	Excellent Written summary includes the characters, setting, problem, solution, and recommendation. There are no spelling or grammar errors.	Good Missing one required element.	Satisfactory Missing two required elements.	Fair Missing three or more required elements or there is no written summary.
Index card	Excellent Contains a few sentences about the diorama scene. Sentences are grammatically correct with no spelling errors.	Good Contains a few sentences about the diorama scene, but has spelling and/or grammar errors.	Satisfactory Sentences on the index card are not related to the diorama scene.	Fair There is no index card.
Oral Presentation	Excellent Student speaks clearly and is easy to understand. Student makes eye contact and is able to communicate about the book they read.	Good Students shows a clear understanding of their book, but does not speak up enough to be heard by everyone or does not make eye contact during presentation.	Satisfactory Student is difficult to hear and reads their entire presentation without making eye contact.	Fair Student refuses to give an oral presentation.
