Theme Poster Project Theme Poster Project Students must pick a theme and detail the theme visually and supporting the theme by using evidence from the text. Using poster paper and the novel, create a poster that is neat, organized, and appropriate to convey the chosen theme. Theme	Poor The student does not provide an appropriate theme or support from the novel.	Fair The student makes it obvious what theme he or she has chosen. The definition he or she included is not appropriate to the context of the novel.	Good Theme is displayed and definition is appropriate to the novel.	Excellent Theme is prominently featured and is appropriate to the novel.
Text Evidence	Poor The student did not select a quote or the quote the student selected did not appropriately support the theme.	Fair The student a quote that only minimally supported the theme.	Good The student selected a quote appropriately supports the theme.	Excellent Chosen quotes were carefully selected and provide exceptional support for the theme.
Explanation of Importance	Poor Student's explanation of the theme's importance is missing or does not reflect an understanding of the ideas within the novel.	Fair Student's explanation of the theme's importance shows a superficial understanding of the novel.	Good Student's explanation of the theme's importance shows a good understanding of the novel.	Excellent Student's explanation of the theme's importance to the novel shows deep reflection and understanding of the themes of the novel.
Neatness/Effort	Poor Poster is messy, appears to be rushed or incomplete.	Fair The poster is neat, but minimal effort was put into the design.	Good The poster shows thought and effort to illustrate the theme from the novel.	Excellent Poster is exceptionally well done, neat and organized and creation was well planned.
