First Grade Rubrics For Trimester 2 Steady Beat in Kindergarten This rubric is to evaluate 3 skills covered this trimester: #1 The student's ability to keep a steady beat on the drum. #2 The student's ability to sing Sol-Mi accurately and in tune. #3 The students ability to identify 4 instruments- trumpet, violin, clarinet and drum. Steady Beat/Sol-Mi/ Instrument I.D. Activities used for steady beat assessment:
	N=Not making acceptable progress 25 pts	P=Progressing 50 pts	M=Meets Standard 75 pts	E=Exceeds Standards 100 pts
Performing:Steady Beat Student played the beat on the drum as the class sang a song.	N=Not making acceptable progress Student is not able to demonstrate the steady beat at this time.	P=Progressing Student is able to demonstrate the steady beat with significant teacher guidance .	M=Meets Standard Student is able to demonstrate the steady beat with no major errors and minimal teacher guidance.	E=Exceeds Standards Student is able to demonstrate the steady beat with no errors and without teacher guidance.
Singing: Sol-Mi Interval Student sang the "Hello Song during the Doggy Game	N=Not making acceptable progress Student is unable to use a singing voice or head voice at this time	P=Progressing Student uses a singing voice but does not produce the correct Sol-Mi interval.	M=Meets Standard Student is able to sing the Sol-Mi interval but is unable to match the pitch of the teacher.	E=Exceeds Standards Student is able to sing the Sol-Mi interval and can match the pitch set by the teacher.
Instrument Identification Student can identify 4 instruments : The violin, trumpet, clarinet and drum visually as well as matching it to it's written name.	N=Not making acceptable progress Student is able to identify 1 of the instruments.	P=Progressing Student is able to identify 2 of the instrument.	M=Meets Standard Student is able to identify 3 of the instruments.	E=Exceeds Standards Student is able to identify all 4 of the instruments.
