Character Suitcase Character Suitcase Students will create a suitcase for the main character of the novel and present what the suitcase represents as well as the individual items in the suitcase. Suitcase	Excellent The suitcase was very creative and neat. It had at least three colorful and interesting stickers on it that related to the character.<BR>	Good The suitcase was somewhat creative and neat. It had two colorful and interesting stickers on it that related to the character.<BR>	Fair The suitcase was somewhat creative but not very neat. It had two stickers on it that related to the character.<BR>	Poor The suitcase was not creative and was sloppy. It had no stickers on it that related to the character.<BR>
Items	Excellent The student included at least 10 items that related well to the character; both intangible and tangible items.<BR>	Good The student included less than 10 items that related well to the character; included both intangible and tangible items.<BR>	Fair The student inlcuded less than 8 items that related well to the character; included primarily either intangible or tangible items.<BR>	Poor The student included less than 7 items and/or they did not relate well to the character; included primarily either intangible or tangible items.<BR>
Luggage Tag	Excellent The luggage tag contained all the required elements on it (character's name, address, and destination)<BR>	Good The luggage tag contained 2 of the required elements on it (character's name, address, and destination)<BR>	Fair The luggage tag contained 1 of the required elements on it (character's name, address, and destination)<BR>	Poor The luggage tag was not on the suitcase.
Explanation of Items	Excellent All 10 or more items had complete and accurate information from the novel and was explained in character. Student is costumed appropriately for the character.	Good Some of the items had complete and accurate information and was explained in character. Student is costumed somewhat appropriately for the character.	Fair A few of the items had complete and accurate information and/or was not presented in character. Student costume has little or no connection to the character.	Poor The items were missing or were not presented in character. Student is not costumed.
