Content	Poor Poem lacks clear purpose or theme. Content does not match with the purpose or visual elements	Fair Content has interest to the viewer and works with the illustrations But the overall effect of the content and theme may not connect with the viewer.	Good The poem has an obvious purpose and theme. The content directly contributes to the overall effectiveness.	Outstanding The content of the poem is interesting and thought provoking. The content and digital effects work together to produce an effective and creative presentation of the poem's theme.
Layout	Poor Difficult to understand and follow;	Fair Most elements are visually appropriate and organized. Illustrations are appropriate and layout is appropriate to the overall purpose of the l poem.	Good Main elements are well organized. Visuals are attractive and functional Layout is very effective in conveying the overall effect of the poem.	Outstanding Layout, visuals, and graphics are outstanding in working together to make a poem whose digital effects work together with its content and message make for a overall outstanding experience.
Grammar Appropriate Application of Tenses	Poor Shows insufficient understanding of past, present, and future tenses that conflict with unit goal expectations.	Fair Shows basic understanding of grammar concepts, but fail to recognize and use proper tenses to form sound sentences.	Good Shows great understanding of grammar concepts, but sentences lack full clarity and mastery of tenses.	Outstanding Shows excellent understanding and application of grammar concepts.
Vocabulary Spelling and Correct Application	Poor Demonstrates insufficient understanding of the vocabulary definitions and sound application in sentences. Good Demonstrates great understanding of the vocabulary definitions and spelling, but are somewhat misplaced and not consistently structured in sound sentences.	Outstanding Demonstrates excellent understanding of vocabulary definitions and spelling, while managing to produce sound sentences.
