Rhythm Assessment
	Exemplary 4 pts	Accomplished 3 pts	Developing 2 pts	Beginning 1 pts
Rhythm - Playing	Exemplary All rhythms are performed correctly without wavering pulse, with proper counting and attention to right hand/left hand sticking.	Accomplished Rhythms are generally correct with some discrepancy in releases and/or rest length and or/ with few variations.	Developing Rhythms are sometimes correct, but there is hesitation.	Beginning Majority of the rhythms are not known.
Rhythm - Creating	Exemplary Student has included dotted notes used correctly with few or no rests.	Accomplished Student has included more than 3 of the required notation with no more than 1 half rest used.	Developing Student has included at least 3 of the required notation; rests are not overused.	Beginning Student has included little of the required notation or has not used the notation correctly failing to complete the measures as directed.

Rhythmic Notation	Exemplary Drew all 6 correct notes/rests with 6 correct beat counts.	Accomplished Drew 5 correct notes/rests with 5 correct beat counts.	Developing Drew 4 correct notes/rests with 4 correct beat counts.	Beginning Drew 3 or less symbols with 3 or less correct beat counts connected.
