Neatness	Poor Paper is unfit to hand in, is marked or crumpled. It has spills on it or is ripped to shreds. Coloring or painting is sloppy and handwriting can't be read.	Fair There are one or two marks, stains, or rips on the paper. Painting or coloring could be neater and handwriting can't be read.	Good There is one mark, rip, or stain on the projects. Handwriting can be read but could be neater.	Great Paper and work are both clean and smooth. The paper is not messy and is free from stains or marks. Handwriting is very neat.
Effort	Poor The work handed in was messy. It looks as if the student rushed through it in order to get it done as quickly as possible. There are no examples of the events of the books shown in the projects.	Fair The student only did as much work so they would not fail. The student did not take too much time to do the work or didn't seem to care. There are one or two examples from the book.	Good The student tried hard to complete their work, but left out important information. There are examples from the book, but there could be more.	Great Student showed great care and effort when completing work. It is apparent that the student was paying attention to all the details in the story when preparing and tried their best to complete their tasks.
Knowledge	Poor The student did not use events from the novel to complete their project.	Fair The student used some events from the novel	Good The student used many events from the novel for their project.	Great Student provided many examples from the story and added them to their project.
Spelling/Punctuation	Poor Frequent spelling mistakes. Punctuation, if used was used wrong.	Fair Many spelling and punctuation mistakes.	Good A few spelling and punctuation mistakes.
