Singing Skills Assessment Singing Skills Assessment The following rubric is a checklist for your current singing skills. You will be expected to sing with correct posture, energy, projection, expression, focus, and with appropriate behavior. Skills
	Meets 3 pts	Approaching 2 pts	Below 1 pts
Posture	Meets Standing/sitting straight Shoulders back Spine straight Feet flat on floor Head up Never needs reminding about posture.	Approaching Standing or sitting, but either slouching or leaning. Standing, but without both feet on the floor. Needs to be reminded about posture.	Below Will not follow directions for standing or sitting.
Projection	Meets Singing at appropriate volume (audible, yet not shouted) independently.	Approaching Singing at appropriate volume (audible, yet not shouted) with prompting from teacher.	Below Inappropriate volume or will not sing.
Performance Etiquette	Meets Student has correct posture. Sings actively and expressively. Responds to the cues of the conductor. Is focused at the task at hand.	Approaching Student has somewhat correct posture. Sings passively. Sings with some expression. Responds somewhat to the conductor. Mostly focused.	Below Demonstrates little or no performance etiquette.
Performance/Task	Meets Student stays on task, does her/his best, follows directions.	Approaching With prompting/reminders student returns to task at hand.	Below Student does not respond to prompts/directions.
