DANCE/DRAMA PERFORMANCE TERM 2 SPORTS CRNIVALS DANCE/DRAMA PERFORMANCE TERM 2 SPORTS CRNIVALS DANCE/DRAMA PERFORMANCE RUBRIC This rubric can be used twice or combined, depending on assessment purpose. PERFORMANCE
	Excellent 10 pts	High 8 pts	Sound 6 pts	Basic 4 pts	Elementary 2 pts
Knowledge of choreography	Excellent Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the choreography of drama/dance and does it well.	High Demonstrates good knowledge of choreography. Keeps up with group. Few errors, however it does not interfere with performance.	Sound Demonstrates knowledge of choreography. Keeps up with group. Some errors.	Basic Demonstrates some knowledge of choreography, but unsure of some movements. Sometimes hesitates/ watches others and makes several errors	Elementary Remembers a few of the steps/ movements and tries, but looks lost and out of sync with others.
Performance Skills	Excellent The dancer/actor creates a believable character on stage and is able to engage the audience completely through their performance.	High The dancer/actor communicates with other dancers/actors and audience through eye contact and facial and body expression. Is able to engage the audience.	Sound The dancer/actor communicates with other dancers/actors and audience through eye contact and facial and body expression.	Basic The dancer/actor is generally focused, but only some attempt made to communicate with others on stage or audience.	Elementary The dancer/actor is not very focused, concentrated or committed to performance.
Rhythm/Tempo	Excellent Shows a complete understanding of tempo and beat and stays on rhythm throughout the dance.	High Accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences throughout the dance.	Sound Generally accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences most of the time.	Basic Shows a basic understanding of tempo and beat, but falls behind and/or speeds up in places or makes errors in rhythm.	Elementary Attempts to keep a rhythm, but gets off beat and speeds up or falls behind often. Doesn't follow beat in music.
