Major Scale	Excellent Student performs the entire major scale with accurate solfege syllables and hand signs.	Good Student performs the entire major scale with solfege syllables and hand signs with few mistakes.	Fair Student performs the entire major scale with solfege syllables and hand signs with many mistakes.	Needs Improvement Student performs the entire major scale but does not use either solfege syllables or hand signs.	Unsatisfactory Student does not perform the entire major scale.
Pitch Matching	Excellent Student is able to correctly match all pitches given by the teacher and uses the appropriate hand signs.	Good Student is able to correctly match most of the pitches given by the teacher and uses the appropriate hand signs.	Fair Student is able to correctly match some of the pitches given by the teacher and uses the appropriate hand signs sometimes, but there are frequent mistakes.	Needs Improvement Student is able to provide correct syllables or hand signs, but uses a speaking voice instead of singing.	Unsatisfactory Student is unable to match any pitches or hand signs.
Rhythm Accuracy	Excellent Student correctly performs all rhythms in a sight-singing example.	Good Student correctly performs most rhythms in a sight-singing example with few mistakes.	Fair Student correctly performs some rhythms in a sight-singing example with frequent mistakes.	Needs Improvement Student is able to verbally define rhythmic values correctly, but is unable to perform them accurately.	Unsatisfactory Student is unable to define or perform any rhythmic values.
Use of Practice Time	Excellent Student practices diligently with their group members and displays a positive attitude toward his or her teammates.	Good Student practices diligently but does contribute to their group in any way.	Fair Student practices some of the time but is easily distracted and does not always pay attention.	Needs Improvement Student practices a little but is easily distracted and mostly fools around. Student also distracts others from practicing.	Unsatisfactory Student does not practice at all and constantly distracts others.
