Engineering Design Process

Imagine	NY Little or No evidence of imagine was seen as they worked in a group.	Acceptable Some evidence of imagine was observed.	Above Good evidence of the group thinking and brainstorming about what they were going to build.	Excellent They really got together as a group and imagined/brainstormed what they were going to build.
Plan	NY Little or no evidence was planned out. They did not plan what they were going to build nor plan on what materials to use in the building.	Acceptable Some evidence of a plan. There was some thought to materials/building, but not really thought out.	Above Good evidence of planning done. Materials were listed and thought out, but the plan wasn't quite complete.	Excellent I can really see what you are going to be building. All materials were listed and well thought out.
Design	NY Your design lacked materials that were needed. It was really hard for me to tell what you built or were building.	Acceptable Some materials were used correctly.	Above Good use of the materials and plan. The tower was nice and well put together.	Excellent Great use of materials! You maximized your use of materials and created a great tower.
Criteria -Height & Stable	NY Tower did not stand.	Acceptable Tower was build but did not stand during wind test.	Above Tower is at least 6 inches tall and did not blow over.	Excellent Tower is over 1 foot tall and did not blow over in wind test.
Time Management	NY Did not use time well. Time was wasted during the imagine, plan, and design phase of engineering.	Acceptable Sometimes used time well. There were times when the group got off task during the imagine, plan, and design phase.	Above Good use of time, there were a few times when the group got off task, but for the majority of the task time was well spent.	Excellent Great use of time. The group stayed on task during each phase of the process.
Participation	NY All or Some group members had to be reminded several times to stay on task.	Acceptable Most group members participated during the building process. The group had to be redirected a few times.	Above The majority of the group members worked together and didn't have to be redirected that much at all.	Excellent All group members worked together flawlessly and got the job done. The group never had to be redirected.
