Beginning, Middle, End All elements of a assignement are included. There is figuratuve language, dialogue, vivid language, charaters and imagery	Excellent The flow of the story is present throughout and the voice of the author is present throughout the story.	Good The flow of the story is present throughout, but the voice of the author is not present. It is unoriginal.	Fair Story is hard to follow at times and the elements of a story are missing at times. The voice of the author is present but not heard at times within the writing.	Poor Story does not have a contain the elements assigned for the assignment.
Illustrations Students have illustrated or computer generated the appropriate pictures to accompany the writing on the pages.	Excellent Illustrations and details are present and connect to all the written page. Details are extreme and great care went into each picture.	Good Illustrations is placed correctly and connected to the written page. Detail to enhance the story is present.	Fair Illustration is just placed on the page and is not connected to the written page.	Poor There are few to no illustrations.

Editing and Publishing Creative ideas and neatness are present throughout.	Excellent Project is creative and all elements of a well-planned children's book are present.	Good Neatness is present, but student was capable of more creative work.	Fair Project has pencil marks and eraser marks throughout. Little time or effort seemed to be put forth.	Poor The project is sloppy and incomplete.
