You have identified a key theme from this story, however, your explanation cannot be applied generally to anyone's life. It is too specific to the story or it is not written in a clear statement.
3=Meets

You have identified a key theme from this story in a concise way and your theme statement could be applied to anyone's life.
4-Exceeds

You have identified a key theme from this story in a concise way, your theme statement could be applied to anyone's life. Moreover, you have connected the theme to other books, or in some way talked about how this theme was developed through the plot or character changes.
