Character Emotions

Identify/Explain Emotions	1 Student is not able to identify any emotions the character is experiencing. Student is not able to explain why the character is experiencing specific emotions.	2 Student is able to identify 1 emotion using general terms (sad, mad, happy, etc). Student attempts to explain the reason for the emotion, but only gives a general reason instead of a specific reason from the book.	3 Student is able to identify more than 1 emotion using general terms. Student is able to explain the reasons for the emotions using 1 correct and specific reason from the book.	4 Student is able to identify at least 1 emotion using more specific vocabulary (distressed, disappointed, confused, anxious, etc). Student is able to explain the reasons for the emotions using 2 correct and specific reasons from the book.	5 Student is able to identify more than 1 emotion using specific vocabulary. Student is able to explain the reasons for the emotions using at least 3 correct and specific reasons from the book.
