Mural Design and Implementation
Below Expectations
No positive participation in mural project. Design does not match thematic style and cannot be added.
Progressing Towards Expectations
Mostly participated in project with some reminders about staying on task. Design is somewhat refined, but more effort is needed. Some elements and principles of art are considered and apparent in individual design and it somewhat matches the thematic style. Transfer of design to the larger piece is highly supported by teacher or guest artist.
Meets Expectations
Sketch or design for the individual part of the mural is critiqued, revised and refined. At least 3 of the elements and 4 of the principle of art are considered and apparent in the individual's design Artwork is transferred with skill and attention to the larger piece considering the design and other artists. May use some support from teacher and guest artist.
Exceeds Expectations
Sketch or design for the individual part of the mural is critiqued, revised and refined. At least 5 of the elements and principles of art are considered and apparent in the individual's design. Artwork is transferred with skill and attention to the larger piece considering the design and other artists. No support needed.
