Lewis and Clark journal Lewis and Clark journal You will write journal entries for at least 3 days on Lewis and Clark's expedition. They must be complemented by illustrations. These days do not need to be consecutive. The entries will be written as if you were on the trip, so write about your experiences from your perspective and give as many details as possible. Historical Facts	Poor No historical facts are present. Dates are inaccurate.	Fair Historical facts are minimal and do nothing to add to the journal entries. Dates are somewhat accurate.	Good Historical facts/dates are sufficient and accurate.	Excellent Historical facts/dates are numerous and they add to the authenticity of the journal entries.
Writer's Craft	Poor Descriptive language is missing. Descriptions lack detail.	Fair Descriptive langauge is used but clumsy. Descriptions are present but lack detail.	Good Descriptive language is used to describe the author's environment and the descriptions are detailed and accurate.	Excellent Descriptive language is used to describe the author's environment and a sense of awe is reflected in the writing.
Illustrations	Poor No drawings or sketches.	Fair Less than 3 drawings or sketches or the illustrations do not complement the journal entries.	Good At least 3 drawings that are related to the journal entries. A little more details/effort needed.	Excellent At least 3 quality drawings that capture a scene/image from the expedition. Excellent effort shown.
