Memorization Test
	Poor 10 pts	Fair 20 pts	Good 30 pts	Excellent 40 pts	Superior 50 pts
Tone	Poor Tone is not well supported and airy. Notes are not clearly produced.	Fair Tone is not well supported, but notes are all audible.	Good Tone is fairly supported with moments of breathiness.	Excellent Tone is consistantly supported.	Superior Tone is well supported and clear on all notes.
Articulation	Poor Notes are not tongued and have no definite start or end.	Fair Notes are not appropriately tongued.	Good Notes are tongued invariably, and do not match the written musical articulation.	Excellent Notes are tongued clearly and regularly, but do not match the written musical articulation.	Superior Notes are tongued consistantly according to the written musical articulation.
Pulse	Poor Pulse is not established and difficult to determine a steady beat.	Fair Pulse is inconsistent with one-two phrases in time.	Good Pulse is fairly accurate, student demonstrates some inconsistencies.	Excellent Pulse is correct for at least 3/4 of the piece with minor inconsistencies.	Superior Pulse is correct and consistent and correct at all times.
Fingerings (Positions)	Poor Majority of fingerings are not known, and the student cannot change between notes.	Fair Fingerings are sometimes correct, but student cannot change between notes without hesitation.	Good Fingerings are mostly correct, but changes between notes are mostly muddy.	Excellent All fingerings are correct but changes are not all clean.	Superior All fingerings are correct, and changes between fingerings are clean.
Memorization	Poor Less than 1 phrase of the music is memorized.	Fair 1-2 phrases are memorized.	Good Half of exercise/piece is memorized.	Excellent 3/4 exercise/piece is memorized.	Superior Exercise/piece is completely memorized.
Directions	Poor Student did not follow assignment directions.	Fair Student followed a quarter of the assignment directions.	Good Student followed half of the assignment directions.	Excellent Student followed three quarters of the assignment directions.	Superior Student completely followed the directions
