Requirements	Beginning 90% of the project doesn't not meet the criteria required for the project.	Developing The project is missing most of the required content or student didn't follow the required format.	Established The project is missing 1-2 of the required content or format.	Excelling The project meets 100% of the required content and format.
Literary Devices/Fig. lang.	Beginning The poems did not include any literary devices such as imagery, sound effects and rhyming pattern. No figurative language.	Developing The poems use some literary devices and figurative language.	Established The poems incorporate several literary devices and figurative language which demonstrate creativity.	Excelling The portfolio demonstrates varied and appropriate application of literary devices and figurative language discussed in class.
Grammar & Punctuation	Beginning There are numerous spelling and grammar errors in the poems. Did not follow format of each poem. Overall presentation is good. The project was put together well and mostly correct.	Excelling The project is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness. All images used are related to the poems and enhances the overall presentation of the project and was put together correctly.
