Limericks Rubric
	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Spelling / Grammar	Excellent Spelling and grammar are virtually error free.	Good Poem has a few errors in spelling and/or grammar. Poems are easily understood.	Fair Poem has several errors in grammar and spelling which make them difficult to understand.	Poor Poem has many spelling and grammar mistakes. No effort given to correct obvious mistakes.
Rhyme pattern/Rhythm	Excellent Poem follows the AABBA Rhyme pattern and has the correct number of syllables in each line(8,8,5/6,5/6,8)	Good Poem has one mistake in either the rhyme pattern or number of syllables in the line.	Fair Poem has 2 mistakes in rhyme pattern or number of syllables.	Poor Poem has three or more mistakes in rhyme pattern or number of syllables.
Imagery/Humor	Excellent Poem is based on student and is humorous with vivid imagery..	Good Poem is written about the student is humorous with some imagery.	Fair although funny, little effort has been given to imagery.	Poor No thought has been given to humor or imagery.
Written neatly.	Excellent Writer's final product is neat, clean, and readable. Word choices show excellent effort.	Good Writer's print is readable. The word choices show effort and connect with the poem.	Fair Writer's print is a somewhat unreadable. Word choices show some effort and somewhat connect with the poem.	Poor Writer's print is not easily readable. Word choices show no effort and do<BR> not connect with the poem.
