Opening paragraph 10 % How well does your first paragraph grab the reader's attention?	Poor Opening paragraph simply restates the topic.	Fair Opening paragraph grabs readers attention in unique way.	Good Opening paragraph uses vivd detail and concise dialogue to put the reader immediately into the story.
Organization 20 % How well is your essay organized?	Poor Essay shows no attempt at organization.	Fair Essay is organized, but some paragraphs are misplaced.	Good Essay is well organized and the organization adds to the quality of the writing.
Level of Detail 40 % How much detail have you put into your essay?	Poor Essay contains little to no detail.	Fair Essay contains some detail.	Good Essay contains vivid detail which appeals to multiple senses.
Expression of self 30 % How well does your essay tell the reader about you?	Poor Essay does not tell much about the writer.	Fair Essay explains some things about the writer, but does not distinguish the writer from others.	Good Essay clearly demonstrates how the writer is unique and separates the writer from other writers.
Grammar All spelling and sentence errors will be 5 point deductions from final grade.
