Novice

Student does not demonstrate or show that they know how to serve a tennis ball.
Rookie

Student is unsuccessful serving the ball over the net, but shows the some basic understanding of technique used.
Veteran

Student has served the ball over the net correctly but not consistently. Student shows some understanding of technique used for serving.
All Star

Student has served the tennis ball over the net 5 times. Student shows most of the techniques used for serving.
Hall of Fame

Student has served the tennis ball over the net 10 or more times. Student shows the complete understanding of techniques used for serving.
Returning

Novice

Student does not demonstrate or show that they know how to return a serve.
Rookie

Student is unsuccessful returning the ball over the net, but shows the some basic understanding of technique used.
Veteran

Student has returned the ball over the net, but not consistently. Student shows some understanding of the technique used for returning.
All Star

Student has returned the tennis ball 5 time over the net. Student shows most of the techniques used for returning.
Hall of Fame

Student has returned 10 or more serves over the net. Student shows the complete understanding if techniques used in returning.
Forehand

Novice

Student does not demonstrate or show that they know how to use a forehand hit a tennis ball.
Rookie

Student is unsuccessful hitting the ball over the net using the forehand hit, but shows the some basic understanding of technique used.
Veteran

Student has used the forehand technique to hit the ball over the net, but not consistently. Student shows some understanding of the technique involved with the forehand hit.
All Star

Student has used the forehand hit successfully 5 times. Student shows most of the techniques involved with the forehand hit.
Hall of Fame

Student has used the forehand technique 5 or more times over the net. Student shows the complete understanding of the forehand hitting technique.
Backhand

Novice

Student does not demonstrate or show that they know how to backhand hit a tennis ball.
Rookie

Student is unsuccessful hitting the ball over the net using the backhand hit, but shows the some basic understanding of technique used.
Veteran

Student has used the backhand technique to hit the ball over the net, but not consistently. Student shows some understanding of the technique involved with the backhand hit.
All Star

Student has used the backhand hit successfully 5 times. Student shows most of the techniques involved with the backhand hit.
Hall of Fame

Student has used the backhand technique 5 or more times over the net. Student shows the complete understanding of the backhand hitting technique.
Sportsmanship

Novice

Student does not demonstrate or display sportsmanship throughout the activitiy
Rookie

Student takes compliments but does not offer any to their opponent and does not share strategies to help them improve their game
Veteran

Student is motivated to do his best to make a game
All Star

Student gives compliments to their opponent but shares little to no strategies to help opponent improve.
Hall of Fame

Student displays Excellent sportsmanship by complimenting opponents as well as sharing strategies to help improve their game.
