Reading Comprehension Questions Reading Comprehension Questions Students are required to answer comprehension questions doing/after class readings. Answers must be written in complete sentences. Restate Question	Below the Standard Question is not restated in response.	Approaching the Standard Question is restated in response, but phrasing may be awkward and use of pronouns creates confusion. (Using "he" or "she" instead of names.)	Meets the Standard Question is restated in response.	Exceeds the Standard Question is fully restated in response making the topic sentence very clear.
Text Support	Below the Standard Student did not refer to the text in responding.	Approaching the Standard Student referred to the text, but did not include verbatim support.	Meets the Standard Student used verbatim text support in response.	Exceeds the Standard Student used verbatim text support in response, and fully demonstrates comprehension of main idea from the reading.
Analysis/Explanation	Below the Standard Student does not expand on the initial response with his/her own ideas.	Approaching the Standard Student includes his/her thoughts, but thoughts are not clearly explained.	Meets the Standard Student includes a clear analysis explaining understanding of the text and their own ideas.	Exceeds the Standard The level of detail in each question is excellent. Student has connected fully with the literature and answered all (100%) comprehension questions correctly.
