Entries	Needs Work Student has chosen 2-3 journal entry questions to write about during the 6 weeks.	Good Student has chosen 4 - 5 journal entry questions to write about during the 6 weeks.	Excellent Student has chosen 6 or more journal entry questions to write about during the 6 weeks.
Organization	Needs Work Ideas are not organized in a logical sequence and no transitions were used.	Good Student attempted to organize thoughts in a logical sequence. One or two transitions were used to move from one idea to another.	Excellent Ideas and thoughts are organized in a way that makes it easy for the reader to follow. Transitions were used to move from one idea to another.
Writing	Needs Work Responses to writing prompts are	Good Student has attempted to give insightful responses to the writing prompts they chose and use "Wow" words to make writing interesting. Entries are not quiet the appropriate length.	Excellent Student gave thoughtful responses and insight in response to the writing prompts they chose. Creative "Wow" words were used to make the writing interesting. Entries are the appropriate length.
Conventions	Needs Work Student has made more than 6 conventional errors per entry that have been covered in class. These errors had an affect on the quality of the entries.	Good Student has made 3-6 conventional errors per entry that have been covered in class. These errors have not affected the quality of the entries.	Excellent Student only made 1-2 conventional errors per entry that have been covered in class. These errors have not affected the quality of the entries.
