STEM Writing Robotics Final Essay This rubric is created to grade the essay assessment for my final exam. "How do you feel you did in class? What grade do you feel you earned? Justify your answer in paragraph form. Information to include in your paragraphs would include robotic vocabulary (sensors, digital, analog, encoders, pragma statements), how you worked with your partner, how the build went and specifics on what you learned and will take away from this semester. 	Poor 10 pts	Fair 19 pts	Good 29 pts	Excellent 35 pts
Content Understanding The student explains the topic in an understandable way.	Poor The student does not provide relevant details and facts and it is not clear that they know the topic.	Fair The student is able to communicate basic understanding on the topic.	Good It is clear that the student understands the topic at an advanced level.	Excellent The student understands the topic and is able to support their understanding with facts and / or examples. Not only using the vocabulary, but explaining it.
Cohesion The student response uses effective writing and communication techniques to convey meaning clearly.	Poor The response is missing key elements, is incoherent and it is difficult to read. Does not include specific vocabulary.	Fair The response includes list -type responses, or uses inappropriate connective language that detracts from the intended meaning and makes the response difficult to read. Uses vocabulary terms.	Good The response is readable and response answers the question clearly, but it includes minor grammatical errors that do not interfere with meaning. Uses and shows meaning of vocabulary.	Excellent The response is well-written and conveys meaning clearly. It uses connective language efficiently to enhance meaning and is easy to read.
