Flag Football Flag Football Rubric Code: MX7WX24 By Paloma777 Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Physical Ed., Fitness Type: Assessment Grade Levels: 6-8

Flag Football Students will be given a performance grade based upon the following flag football skills.
	Need Improvement 1 pts	Working Towards 2 pts	Achieving 3 pts	Excelling 4 pts
PASSING Demonstrates understanding of offensive passing strategies.	1 Student fails to throw the football with proper form throughout the unit.	2 Student picks up the basic skills on how to pass but at times does not use the skills properly.	3 Student passes the ball correctly most of the time. The student uses the correct passing technique.	4 Student passes the ball with proficiency. Able to pass to stationary and moving targets during game play
CATCHING Exhibits skill to catch a pass throw while stationary and moving.	1 Student fails to improve or correctly catch the ball throughout the flag football unit.	2 Student can perform skill with some consistency in a non game situation and with no defenders present	3 Student can perform the skill in a game situation when left unguarded.	4 Student can combine catching with movement to avoid a defender.
RULES OF THE GAME Demonstrates competency of rules.	1 Student does not know what the rules of the game are after completing the football unit. Unsure of terms relating to rules	2 Student has some fair knowledge of the rules. Student knows some of the basic, most important rules of the game.	3 Student knows most of the rules and is able to apply or make calls during game play	4 Student knows almost all the rules. Can help teach others that don't know all the rules. Student questions the rules when in different game situations.
TEAMWORK and SPORTSMANSHIP The ability to communicate, cooperate, lead & encourage teammates.	1 Does not communicate with teammates, lacks cooperation with teammates, and acts negatively towards teammates, lacks effort, isolates themselves	2 Occasionally communicates and encourages teammates, sometimes cooperates with teammates, but rarely assists, shows effort at times.	3 Communicates with teammates regularly, cooperates & occasionally strategizes with teammates, and occasionally assists teammates. Stays positive, includes others, good effort.	4 Encourages & initiates communication, cooperates & strategizes with teammates, assists teammates, and leads teammates in a positive way. Positive attitude, includes everyone and hustles on all plays. Excellent effort
