There are several pauses or hesitations and they detract from the overall performance.	3 Student MOSTLY demonstrates understanding of steady beat. There are very few pauses or hesitations and they do not detract from the overall performance.	4 Student ALWAYS demonstrates understanding of steady beat. There are no pauses or hesitations.
Rhythm	1 Student is not able to demonstrate understanding of rhythm at this time.	2 Student SOMETIMES demonstrates understanding of rhythm. There are several rhythmic mistakes and they detract from the overall performance.	3 Student MOSTLY demonstrates understanding of rhythm.
