Script is memorized. Text holds to what is written. No prompting.
Actor can stay focussed and knows lines well enough to do an Italian run, a grotesque run, and reverse run with only very marginal flaws and no prompting
Good

Script is memorized, with only minor errors. Actor needs to call line occasionally when creative rehearsals take place.
Average

The script is mostly memorized, but not word for word. Occasional ad-libs. Only needs occasional prompting. Some paraphrasing. Some unscripted pauses to search for lines.
Fair

Needs a fair amount of prompting or ad-libs. Forces other actors to "save them" sometimes or move around in the script - - other actors must listen carefully and "track" them. Pauses often to find themselves.
Poor

Scene is not memorized. Frequent ad-libs. Using script or needs excessive prompting. Makes it very difficult for others to play their role or polish their own performances. Stunts growth of fellow actors.

Successfully identified objectives and portrays them clearly to the audience. Always was trying to perfect role and intent driven and thoughtful understanding. Tactics were explored. Choices were supported after experimentation

Conveys most objects to the audience, but may not do so clearly all the time. Mostly was trying to perfect role and understanding. Tactics and choices were explored to some degree.

Objective recognition but does not convey them to the audience clearly. Some attempt was made to define role clearly and understand role. Tactics and choices were not thought about regularly.

Only a general idea of objectives. Little attempt made to define role, search for tactics and try different choices. Waited to be told.

Objectives are non existent. Common practice for the actor was to wait and be told what to do, think, and be.

Excellent ensemble interaction. Excellent use of props, costume and set decoration. Actor emitted with colour and vigor. Actor absorbed with power and intensity.

Good ensemble interaction. Good use of props, costume and set decoration. Good emitting and absorbing.
Average

Average ensemble interaction. Some use of props, costume and set decoration. Adequate emitting and absorbing.
Fair

Fair ensemble interaction. Some use of props, costume and set decoration. Marginal emitting and absorbing.
