Author Background Paper

Student did not exhibit a basic understanding of the core requirements. Presented little to no data to show they had researched the author and could not cite textual evidence that they either read about the author or understood his particular style of writing.

Student demonstrated a solid understanding of the author's background and history. Student is aware of the authors prolific history with regard to writing particularly in the vein of science fiction and provided this information in the paper.

Student not only provided a good basic foundation for the authors history and previous written works, but student also provided background on what other popular works the author was famous for. Student was able to reference the authors most well known contemporaries and list notable dates in history.
Power Point Presentation

Students' Power Point presentation was either non-existent, poorly thought out or inconsistent with the main point of the assignment. Power Point text screens contained errors in grammar, spelling mistakes or poor word association. Power Point contained no pictures or graphical representations appropriate to the assignment.

Student was able to provide a solid, enjoyable, well thought out Power Point Presentation. There were no spelling errors, grammatical errors or other vocabulary issues. Student provided pictures and/or graphical representations to support his/her assignment.
Excellent
Student provided solid background information on the author and selected works. Student had no grammatical, vocabulary or spelling errors. Student provided graphical material, video content and pictures central to the theme of the assignment.

Student scored less than 50% on the vocabulary quiz.

Education Differences Presentation

Student was excited about presenting the information, provided the correct number of slides and had additional supplementary platforms. Student took questions from the class/teacher about the presentation. Student had no errors in spelling, vocabulary or mistakes during their presentation.
