PBSA Pre/Post-Test Rubric This rubric will be used to assess performance on the "Lesson Topic: Slopes" pre-test and post-test. Rubric Code: MX3385B By jweddle1 Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Math Type: Quiz Grade Levels: 6-8

Pre/Post-Test Rubric
	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Critical Thinking	Good Student shows ability to graph point in xy-plane. Correctly calculates slope. Explanation of rate of change shows mastery of slope concept. Real-life examples of when calculating slope would be useful demonstrate that student can translate concept to practical applications.	Fair Student shows ability to graph point in xy-plane. Slope calculation may not be correct but shows rough approximation of correct method. Explanation of rate of change shows some grasp of slope concept. Student provides real-life examples that at least involve change over time.	Poor Student attempts to graph point in xy-plane but does so incorrectly. Student attempts to calculate slope but shows little knowledge of proper method. Student answers remaining questions, but answers do not show grasp of slope concept.
Organization	Good Student shows all work in a clear and organized fashion. Student answers questions in complete sentences where appropriate.	Fair Student shows work but presentation is messy and difficult to follow. Answers to short-answer questions are coherent but not written in complete sentences.	Poor Student shows work on only some questions. Answers to short-answer questions are incoherent.
Participation	Good Student shows a positive attitude and strong effort at completing the test.	Fair Student completes the test but shows only minimal effort and appears not to care.	Poor Student is resistant to completing the task and attempts only part of the test.
