Main idea / Theme is stated.	IE = Incomplete / Missing Missing or doesn't include enough information to grade.	Beginning The main idea /theme is missing, or is not stated in a complete sentence.	Developing The main idea /theme is stated, however, it is not stated explicitly.	Mastery The main idea /theme is clearly and explicitly stated in a complete sentence.
Three or more supporting details.	IE = Incomplete / Missing Missing or doesn't include enough information to grade.	Beginning Only one supporting detail, or all of the supporting details are not written in complete sentences.	Developing Only two supporting details, or some details are not written in complete sentences.
