Drumming
	Excellent 25 pts	Good 18 pts	Needs Improvent 10 pts
Hand Position/Posture	Excellent Appropriate hand position and energy at all times. Posture is always appropriate; both feet on the floor, sitting up straight and arms up and ready. Plays with appropriate force and dynamic.	Good Hand position appropriate some of the time, energy is lacking at times. Posture appropriate some of the time; legs crossed, sitting back in chair some of the time. Plays too loudly or softly at times.	Needs Improvent Hand position sloppy, hands too far back on the edge of the drum.Shows no energy and poor posture. Drum is played too hard or too soft.
Rhythm	Excellent Rhythm idea is clear.	Good Rhythms slightly unclear in one or two spots.	Needs Improvent Student unable to keep a steady rhythm.
Low Drum Part	Excellent Student is able to accurately play the low drum part, using bass tone and high tones. Student displays confidence in his/her playing.	Good Student is able to play the low drum part, but there were one or two instances where the beat was unsteady or pattern was incorrect.	Needs Improvent Student has difficulty playing the low drum part, but gives good effort.
Medium Drum Part	Excellent Student is able to accurately play the medium drum pattern, using bass tones and high tones. Student displays confidence in his/her playing.	Good Student is able to play the medium drum part, but there were one or two instances where the beat was unsteady or pattern was incorrect.	Needs Improvent Student has difficulty playing the medium drum part, but gives good effort.
