	Beginner 1 pts	Intermediate 2 pts	Excellent 3 pts
Readiness	Beginner Is rarely ready and able to begin the yoga lesson.	Intermediate Is usually ready and willing to begin the yoga lesson.	Excellent Is always eager to begin the yoga lesson.
Breathing	Beginner Shallow breathing, at the worst case. Not being able to inhale and exhale for longer than 4-5 seconds each during breathign exercises.	Intermediate Able to do some deep breathing practices. Inhale and exhale from 5-10 seconds during breathing exercises.	Excellent Great at deep breathing exercises. Allows breath to run the mind. Is able to inhale and exhale from 10-etc seconds during breathing exercises.
Participation/Concentration	Beginner Has difficulty concentrating when learning/holding poses. Has difficulty following directions and staying on task.	Intermediate Usually perseveres when learning/holding poses. Participates actively with infrequent, gently reminders to follow instruction and remain on task.	Excellent Perseveres and concentrates when learning/holding poses. Always participates actively, willingly and excitedly. Independently extends i.e., applies and transfers learning. Models for peers.
Technique	Beginner Has difficulty understanding how to translate oral direction to the body shape/form.	Intermediate Usually either has the pose correctly executed with all lines/shapes, or if not, needs minor adjustments to form and is willing/able to make adjustments.	Excellent Always has the pose correctly executed with all lines/shapes in tact.
