Adequate Fairly fluent and generally audible.	Moderate Fluency lacking and sometimes can not be heard.	Elementary Tends to mumble. Not fluent and not loud enough.	Not achieved Inarticulate and unintelligible.
Pronunciation	Outstanding Excellent pronunciation and articulation.	Meritorious Clear articulation and very good pronunciation.	Substantial Generally good articulation and pronunciation.	Adequate Reasonably good pronunciation. Battles with some words.	Moderate Stumbles over words - unsure of pronunciation, therefore not very clear.	Elementary Struggles to pronounce many words. Reading ability and pace	Outstanding Student read fluently. Varies pace, pitch and tone in a masterful fashion. A pleasure to listen to.	Meritorious Very good variation of pace, pitch and tone. Understanding of text	Outstanding Student perfectly understood what he/she had read when asked could effortlessly explain the deeper meaning of the poem.	Meritorious Student has a good idea of what's happening in the text and understood the meaning of the poem well.	Substantial Student has an idea of what the poem means.	Adequate Student has a vague idea of what the poem means.	Moderate Student has some idea of what the poem means.	Elementary Student has very little idea of what the poem means.
