Excellent
Student was able to prepare a quality action plan that included names, addresses, and contact names. Student contacted organization and conversed about a plan and future volunteering ideas.
Very Good
Student was able to prepare a quality action plan that included names, addresses and contacts, however, contacting the organization took longer than expected, thus slowing the overall process down.
Average
Students action plan was incomplete, leaving out more than 2 of the given criteria. Did not contact the organization.
Poor
Action plan was not handed in on time. Student has to be constantly reminded to complete and contact an organization.
Volunteering
Excellent
Student volunteered 5 times or more at their organization. Was able to articulate their experience during their presentation. Enthusiasm and passion captured the attention of the rest of the students.
Very Good
Student volunteered 5 times at their organization. Did not seem overly excited to do so.
Average
Student volunteered between 3-5 times with their organization. Was not motivated during the entire experience.
Poor
Volunteered less than 3 times…… was not interested in the project.
Final Presentation
Excellent
Student used a quality powerpoint, poster or prezi to visually display their presentation. Spoke clearly and passionately, while explaining purpose of their organization.
Very Good
Students powerpoint, prezi or poster was average leaving out some information about their organization. Speech was sometimes unclear.
Average
Students powerpoint, prezi or poster was ineffective. Speech was unclear at times and showed no passion for the organization or the project.
Poor
Student did not present their organization in any fashion other than verbal. No real interest in completing the project.
Presentation Activity
Excellent
Instructions were clear and students were engaged during activity. Activity directly related to the subject matter and the organization. Students liked the activity.
Very Good
Instructions were clear and students were engaged in the activity. Activity DID NOT relate to the subject matter at all.
Average
Instructions were unclear and students were confused.
Poor
Activity was random. No relevance or reason.
Question Period
Excellent
Student was able to field all questions about their organization with definitive answers. Very knowledgeable about the subject matter.
Very Good
Student was able to field most of the questions well, however, was stumped or confused on 1 or 2 of the difficult questions.
Average
Student did not understand their subject matter very well and appeared confused on 3 or more questions.
Poor
Student was confused on all questions, trying to answer with no knowledge.
Asking Questions
Excellent
Student asked 4 or more questions throughout all of the presentations and was genuinely interested in the topics.
Very Good
Student asked between 2-4 questions throughout the presentations. Some questions were just asked to fulfill the requirement.
Average
Student asked 1 question.
Poor
Student asked 1 question, but was not interested in the conversations at all.
