Player has the ability to recognize the fingering, key position, and alternate keys.
Superior
Player is able to recognize the fingering, key positions, and alternate keys on instrument. Also, can easily transition fingerings on notes.
Articulation
Poor
Player could not control the tongue t play correct rhythms, having been "too heavy." Also, there is an absent of air support and, therefore, hardly any phrasing.
Fair
Player lacks the correct articulation of the tonguing, being too heavy. Also, phrasing was hardly visible and many times of lack in air support.
Good
Player can play correct articulation but doesn't display phrasing and sometimes lacks the needed air support for playing.
Excellent
Player has the ability to recognize the correct style and phrasing though enough air support and articulation.
Superior
Player is capable of playing right style and phrasing according to music. Also, move the tongue to have control of steady air stream and accurate articulation.
Reading
Poor
Shows ignorance of key and time signature. Doesn't acknowledge the rhythm read in pieces and is oblivious to dynamic contrast.
Fair
Lacks consistency of acknowledging key and time signature. Has errors surrounding the rhythm and notes read. No attempt for dynamic contrast.
Good
Possess ability to read time and key signature, but lacks on the understanding of rhythm and note values. No sort of dynamic sustained.
Excellent
Has ability to read time signature, key signature, and note value. However, lacks in contrast of dynamics.
Superior
Retains ability to read the key signature, time signature, rhythm, and note. Also, shows contrast in dynamics located on music.
